Why do powerful men have a need to take anything they want- especially women and sometimes drugs. The problem is if they are a well-known celebrity, they inevitably get caught. Like A –Rod, Sen. John Edwards or Silvio Burlusconi, the Prime Minster of Italy, whose wife is filing for divorce because he attended a glamorous blonde's 18th birthday party and gave her a diamond-and-gold necklace. Then it becomes about what they did and whom they did it with, rather than their abilities or their political skills. As For A Rod, hundreds of players have taken steroids. Don’t forget for many years steroids were not banned. But only celebrity sport figures like Barry Bonds and A- Rod were singled out. The sports and politics become secondary to the salacious news; careers are destroyed and lost, and the children and wives of these people really suffer. I’m not excusing the A- Rod’s, John Edwards’, or Silvio Burleson’s of the world, but do we really need to know all that? Maybe a psychiatrist or de-tox program is more in order then a salacious book or a gossip column.
