Too Good to Believe? European Air-Hotel Packages

Hello Pauline and Arthur,

Is Go-Today.com a reliable site?  I found an unbelieveable Paris/Rome package but my husband is dubious.  Also, the dates are for December.  I think it would be interesting to be in these cities for early Dec in preparation for Christmas.  Any thoughts about this? I'll be sure to buy your books should we decide to go!

Thank you.
Margaret Esposito

Dear Margaret,

It looks like you've stumbled upon one of the best companies on the web for European travel. Not only is Go-Today reliable (I myself took one of its Paris packages several years back), but its rates are often among the lowest on the market. For travel this September, for example, it will be selling a package that combines airfare from New York City and four nights hotel in London for a historic low of just $499 per person. It's offering seven night fly/drive packages (airfare from NYC and seven-day Hertz car rental) for an extraordinary $249. And the deals just go on and on.

Before you book with Go-Today---or any site really---be sure to check the competition to make sure you can't do better. often Gate1Travel and Virgin Vacations match Go-Today's prices. So be sure to check all three before booking.

As for Paris and Rome in December: I'd say go for it. You're right, both city's will have an extra holiday sparkle during that month. You'll also likely see some special festivals at that time of year. Pack an umbrella and an overcoat for Paris: it can get quite damp and chillly at that time of year. Rome, by contrast, should be quite temperate (think 50's) as it's so far south.

Have a wonderful trip!

Cordially,

Pauline Frommer
