Magic at Feinstein's

On Sunday evening I went to Feinstein’s at The Loews Regency at 540 Park Avenue (at 61st Street), one of the top cabarets in New York City.  Amanda Greene, daughter of the late Adolph Green and Phyllis Green, performed with a stellar cast, her own original music and an array of show tunes.  They have good line-up through the end of the year including Barbara Cook and Michael Feinstien in a gala New Year’s Eve performance.

What I didn’t know, is that on Sunday night at 7:00 pm, in a separate room at Feinstein’s, is a fantastic magic show called "Magical Nights”. We caught  some of the the table tricks performed at intermisssion with magican  Michael Chaut, and the guy was right on.  Most people arrive when the doors open at 5:30 pm for “Magical Nights” and ticket prices start at $27.50 (plus a minimum $25.00 food and drink  fee per person).    For more information or tickets to any of the shows at Feinstein’s  call 212 -339-4095

Pray for Us

U.S. Attorney General Eric Holder testified before the senate judiciary committee and basically shrugged when asked if any other enemy combatant captured overseas had ever been brought to civilian criminal court to face justice. Talk about an incompetent boob, not to mention a disgrace.

Great food matched with lovely wines

Here is a list of wines all from Spain, and menus from restaurants in Brooklyn where a crew of us  did a food / wine crawl through Carrol Gardens and Williamsburg recently
