John Liu Becomes First Asian-American Elected To Citywide Office



John Liu is the winner for the race for city Comptroller.  Liu won in a landslide against a token Republican opponent to become the city's fiscal watchdog. 

Liu becomes the first Asian-American elected to a citywide office. 

Liu says he will work his hardest to close the city's budget gap for the upcoming fiscal year. 

Liu succeeds Bill Thompson as city Comptroller, who decided to run for mayor.
