A Dozen Arrested at Fast Food Protests in Times Square
Posted September 4th, 2014 @ 11:56am

Protesters gathers in Times Square on Thursday morning in their effort to get fast food chains including McDonalds, Wendys and other fast food chains to raise the pay of their employees.

A dozen protesters were arrested out of the hundred that rallied in front of the McDonalds located in Times Square. The protests planned on being peaceful, but a few were said to have been rowdy enough to be arrested.

The effort to try to raise the wages of fast food workers up to $15 an hour has been going on for almost two years now, and the organization that heads these efforts has recently switched up the stragety.

As of now, the average worker at a fast food establishment makes $7.25 an hour which equates to just around $15,000 a year working 40 hours a week.
