Governor Cuomo’s top aide will meet with federal prosecutors to discuss the controversy over the Moreland Commission.
Cuomo’s administration is accused of hindering the investigation into political corruption because it was getting too close to the governor. Larry Schwartz allegedly directed the panel away from entities that had ties to Cuomo.
The Wall Street Journal reports Schwartz will meet with prosecutors in the Manhattan U.S. Attorney’s Office this month.
U.S. Attorney Preet Bharara has been investigating after Cuomo suddenly shut down the commission before its work was complete.
The governor said his office will cooperate fully with the investigation. Cuomo also said he won’t comment any further on the situation publicly.
