The former manager of the Tick Tock Diner in Clifton, New Jersey has pleaded guilty in a murder-for-hire plot.

Georgios Spyropoulos was accused of trying to have his uncle murdered.  Last year he allegedly attempted to hire a hit man, who turned out to be a police officer.

Spyropoulos now faces 8 years behind bars.

His attorney, Anthony Pope, said the plea was their best option.

“Our job is to look at the strengths and weaknesses of a case, look at the potential liability that one’s facing, take everything into consideration and make an informed judgement and a recommendation.  Based on that is why he pled guilty,” said Pope.

Sentencing is scheduled for September 19th.
