A series of storms tore through the tri-state area on Tuesday, creating a mess in many communities.
The torrential downpours led to flooding problems in many low lying areas. At one point yesterday, the Cross Bronx Expressway had to be closed because of flooding issues. That led to traffic backups at the George Washington Bridge that kept drivers waiting for upwards of 3 hours.
In other places tree limbs came down on power wires, leaving many customers in the dark. The StarLedger reported that as of 6:10 last night, 19,000 homes in New Jersey were without power.
More rain is forecast for Wednesday morning, although the weather should begin to clear this afternoon.
