On Thursday it was announced that a trip to the National Sept. 11 Memorial Museum will cost $24. The New York Daily News reports that the board of trustees voted on Thursday to set the admission price at $24. The museum will open in May.
Although the museum will cost $24, the memorial will still be free. Also, the families of 9/11 victims will not have to pay the admission fee and there will be discounts for students, senior citizens, and children. The memorial's president, Joe Daniels, said that because they are not receiving government funds they had no choice but to increase the admission fee. The Daily News notes that there will be a three hour window every Tuesday night where the museum will be free for everyone.
