My Famous Ritz Crackers Stuffing and Kids Night on Broadway
I’ve been on the air for a long time and people ask me all types of questions but still to this day, the number one question is “can I have your Mother's Ritz Cracker Thanksgiving stuffing recipe. Today, I will share it with all of you and the five pounds we will all gain after we eat it.
Joan's Mother’s Ritz Cracker Stuffing
Ingredients:
• 5 Large Onions
• Chicken Fat (or oil)
• 2-3 stalks of raw celery
• 1 large box Ritz Crackers (or 1 large and 1 small)
• 1-2 eggs
Method: Brown 5 large onions in chicken fat (or oil if you prefer) until they are very brown. Cut up 2-3 stalks of raw celery. Take a large box of Ritz crackers (or 1 large and 1 small) and crumble them into bits. Add browned onions and raw celery to crumbled crackers. Lightly beat 1-2 eggs and add to mixture. Put stuffing in a soufflé dish. Cook in the oven with turkey for the last hour and a half that the bird is in the oven. Bake at 350 degrees. Baste often with turkey drippings or use chicken stock.
