Joan Hamburg interview Bestselling Author Patricia Cornwell

LISTEN TO THE INTERVIEW

Joan Hamburg speaks with American Novelist Patricia Cornwell about her newest book "Scarpetta." Joan and Patricia discuss early influences in her life such as Ruth Graham, wife of Evangelist`Billy Graham, whom she met as a child. Patricia describes Ruth as a creative woman who encouraged her to write; advice she took with her all the way to college. While there, Patricia took journalism and was assigned to work at a police department which inspired her crime mystery series.

Scarpetta is the sixteenth installment in the Dr. Kay Scarpetta crime solving series. This time around, the sleuth travels to New York to investigate a string of murders in the area. Readers find changes that Dr. Scarpetta has taken on. such as marriage, change that Patricia says is important for characters as they evolve in a series. Dr. Scarpetta also uses cutting edge technology such as "brain scans" to investigate the murders.

A-Rod is sorry; actually I am sorry that people in the public eye are killing such a great word. Saying I am sorry used to be hard, it used to mean something.
