A few of my favorite things- Cupcakes & hair extensions

One of my New Years resolutions is not to pretend I am giving up sweets. In fact, today a lifetime supply of stuffed cupcakes from the Petite Café in Nutley New Jersey, 973-667-7778, arrived on my desk. Butterscotch Hug, Chocolate Decadence, and Red Velvet!
Speaking of sweets, my producer Natalie had a very creative solution to her collapsing Gingerbread house she was making over the weekend. When the roof kept sliding off she decided to hot glue gun it together. I think I will think twice when she brings in food from home next time.
One thing Natalie does have that I wanted to share with you is the name of a good stylist doing extensions in New York. Keith at the Kenneth Salon at the Waldorf Astoria has been busy bringing long locks to those in need! And he does not use a hot glue gun to make them stay. It is pricey, (could run two thousand dollars for a full head) but it does last several months. He is also doing the Keratin treatment that I have spoken about. Now that is a fun treat!
In a previous blog, “A Runners Wife” I spoke about my husband training for the NYC marathon. All I have to say is that the months of training all came together of an amazing race. Race day is a grueling day for runners, and the family. But a miracle happened...
U.S. Attorney General Eric Holder testified before the senate judiciary committee and basically shrugged when asked if any other enemy combatant captured overseas had ever been brought to civilian criminal court to face justice. Talk about an incompetent boob, not to mention a disgrace.
Here is a list of wines all from Spain, and menus from restaurants in Brooklyn where a crew of us did a food / wine crawl through Carrol Gardens and Williamsburg recently
