What a way to start what everyone thinks will be a turbulent year, the safe emergency landing of a US Airways plane in the Hudson River. Amid all the bad news about Wall Street, jobs, the Mideast conflict, and Presidential politics, this is a story of hope.
The pilot Chesley Sullenberger guided the plane down to a safe landing on water, which is extremely rare. He is without question a hero. Just imagine minutes after taking off from LaGuardia his plane runs into a flock of geese ( I hate those birds ) he looses both engines and his choice is try to limp back to LaGuardia or try to reach Teterboro or Newark and he chooses to land in the Hudson River!
This could have been a major tragedy instead it is a wonderful uplifting story, just when the country can use one. Pilot Chesley Sullenberger turned what could have been a disaster into a success, lets see if we can now find him a job in the banking industry.

U.S. Attorney General Eric Holder testified before the senate judiciary committee and basically shrugged when asked if any other enemy combatant captured overseas had ever been brought to civilian criminal court to face justice. Talk about an incompetent boob, not to mention a disgrace.
