I was plowing snow yesterday morning, early, about 6:15. My sister-in-laws driveway is long and narrow. Almost so narrow that the new plow truck (key word here is NEW) almost doesn't fit between the house and the BIG tree. (key words house and tree). As I hurried along trying to get done I needed to jump out of the truck to shovel by hand. Imagine my excitment as I did and watched out of the corner of my left eye as the big blue plow truck started to drive away. GOOD GRIEF! I forgot to shift into park. Funny how that theme music from Raiders of the Lost Ark started playing in my head. I caught up to the truck in 3 steps and was hanging onto the steering wheel as it dragged me down the driveway. Grateful that I had just installed the running boards on Saturday I realized that I needed to jump up and in all in one motion in order to clear the door, the tree ( which was fast approaching!) and steer away from the house.
As I sat there after the fact catching my breath realizing how close I came to a good disaster I had two thoughts.
One, this must be how Indiana Jones got his training for the movies. And two.
Somewhere this is a government spy satellite with video showing me being dragged down the driveway with my heels dug in to no avail trying to stop a 1 ton Chevy Pickup, snow plow down, heading straight for the tree and house...
Let's see if that make it onto you tube. You can't make this stuff up!
