What a long strange trip its been. Sunday was the snow plow truck incident (see previous blog titled "Indiana Jones") and it took a couple days to get it out of my mind. I didn't have much time to dwell on it this week though. Monday was very busy; multiple cars with multiple issues; some customers as well! Tuesday was inauguration day and the shop settled down both in cars and phone calls (funny how the outside world has such an influence on whether or not cars need to be repaired, isn't it?) Wednesday was cranked up all over again and yesterday (Thursday) I spent most of the day trying to find a correct thermostat and gasket for a 2000 Honda Odyssey (how hard can it be?) and today (Friday is going to be tidy up all the loose ends, deliver all the now repaired and working cars so we can make our escape by 4:00 for the weekend. Yes, it is a little early closing BUT we planned an Ananian family outing tonight to celebrate the new year in our own quiet space and time. As chaotic as the week was I am grateful to have been here to experience it; life is not a test drive; experience it and enjoy it or else you will find it over before you get the car warmed up and working correctly.
In a previous blog, “A Runners Wife” I spoke about my husband training for the NYC marathon. All I have to say is that the months of training all came together of an amazing race. Race day is a grueling day for runners, and the family. But a miracle happened...
U.S. Attorney General Eric Holder testified before the senate judiciary committee and basically shrugged when asked if any other enemy combatant captured overseas had ever been brought to civilian criminal court to face justice. Talk about an incompetent boob, not to mention a disgrace.
Here is a list of wines all from Spain, and menus from restaurants in Brooklyn where a crew of us did a food / wine crawl through Carrol Gardens and Williamsburg recently
