As the economy slides and businesses disappear the effect spreads out everywhere. We recently lost our MAC tool salesman of 18 years. Very sad. Mike was a hard working, great tool guy that just got caught by the economy and the industry. Long story short I just noticed that some of my MAC 1/2' drive deep impact sockets are fairly worn out and beat up. I wished I had noticed it last month before Mike went out. I requested a quote from our local, now the only mobile tool dealer around, Snap On dealer, Jason. I also requested a price on a set of 1/2" impact swivel sockets and a few other small wrenches that seem to be critical; we just plan need them. I was staggered a little when I heard that each socket set is $360. Between those 2 items and the other small pieces the total quote just exceeded $900. Holy Cow! I must be really old because I remember buying whole tool boxes with sets of tools in them for that kind of money.
So much for holding down expenses in the new year. I didn't buy anything YET but I asked for the items to be put on my "Wish" list. As in wish it was a little less expensive. Tell me again why auto repair isn't MORE expensive????
In a previous blog, “A Runners Wife” I spoke about my husband training for the NYC marathon. All I have to say is that the months of training all came together of an amazing race. Race day is a grueling day for runners, and the family. But a miracle happened...
U.S. Attorney General Eric Holder testified before the senate judiciary committee and basically shrugged when asked if any other enemy combatant captured overseas had ever been brought to civilian criminal court to face justice. Talk about an incompetent boob, not to mention a disgrace.
