You know I am not a big fan of the economic stimulus package because I’m not sure it’s the best way to stimulate the economy and create jobs, but I will give President Obama credit for some good moves. It was great to hear the President criticize Wall Street for handing out bonuses during a year that has just been dreadful. He said it was wrong and shameful that Wall Street hotshots got $18 billion dollars in bonuses in a year when Wall Street firms lost $35 billion dollars and the government was bailing out failing financial institutions. He said it was the height of irresponsibility. I fully agree, in fact if you ask me some of theses guys should be given a jail sentence instead of bonuses.
One other good move by the President, he made the trip to Capitol Hill to meet with Republicans. Looking for support for his stimulus bill, a nice gesture but not effective. But even after Republicans unanimously voted against the stimulus bill he invited the leaders of both parties to the White House for drinks. He has also invited a bipartisan group to the White House to watch the Super Bowl. At least he’s trying. By the way I’ll be routing for the Cardinals
