Time To Come Clean

Looking over the news today you have to wonder where have all the honest people gone. The nomination of Tom Daschle to be HHS Secretary was done in because owed back taxes.  The same problem plagued Timothy Geithner now the Treasury Secretary and today we hear that Nancy Killefer, the nominee to be the nations first chief performance officer is withdrawing because she failed to pay taxes on household help.

There is a growing list of people who have not been open and honest.  A list that includes Connecticut Senator Chris Dodd who finally admitted a sweetheart mortgage deal.  Michael Phelps who admitted smoking pot. Former NYC Police Commissioner Kerik who was in court today to face his tax evasion charges.   Then of course we have alleged ponzi schemers Bernard Madoff and Nicholas Cosmo, and let’s not forget Rod Blagojevich.  I could go on and on, but I’ll stop.  Oh wait the New York City Judge who heard some of the Madoff hearings is accused of slapping around his wife.  Bad guys, bad loans, bad banks, bad investments, maybe it’s time to clean up this mess.
