You may recall that my wife and daughter were in a car crash about 2 weeks ago. Here is the update...
Things are finally moving along. After waiting about 5 days for the police report to come in the insurance company and body shop swung into action. An adjuster came out and wrote the damage onto paper. It doesn't look like it but the estimate is just over $3000. Hard to believe the other car did not have a scratch on it (it was a 93 Saturn, another one of those plastic body cars). Now the parts have to be ordered and then the actual work can begin. In the meantime Sue is driving a rental (hey, you didn't think I was going to let her drive the Suburban did you?)(Nobody drives the Suburban, it's like sitting on those plastic seat covers your parents put on the living room sofa when you were a kid) The car is over at Greenwood Collision in Wyckoff, NJ ; just a stones throw from the shop here in Waldwick so at least I don't have much separation anxiety (what, one of the cars is out of the fleet???) . As Michele, the office manager at Greenwood said "Don't worry Ron, it will be back with you soon. Once the parts show up it is about a 3 days repair providing nothing else is needed."
"Why, what else could go wrong? It's only a car!" I wondered. But of course this is at least another 2 weeks till completion. One thing to keep in mind is body shops are not magicians, good repairs with quality parts takes time. Stay tuned for updates.
And in case they read this, thanks to Michele and Rob for helping walk me through the process of body repair. (You sure you can't repaint the whole car black with flames???)

U.S. Attorney General Eric Holder testified before the senate judiciary committee and basically shrugged when asked if any other enemy combatant captured overseas had ever been brought to civilian criminal court to face justice. Talk about an incompetent boob, not to mention a disgrace.
