Someone tell Barack Obama he won the Presidency. And PLEASE someone tell him to stop scaring us.

Let’s start with the scary part, I know he needs to gather support for his economic plan but it seems he is trying to frighten and threaten the American public in order to get Congress to approve this huge spending package.  He warned at the news conference Monday night, if Congress fails to move quickly to pass stimulus legislation it could turn the crisis into a catastrophe.  He also said we could be facing a decade of recession; failure to act will only deepen the crisis.  We know its tough, but I’d like to here a little more positive thought from the man leading the nation.

Speaking of leadership, looking at Obama’s  actions over the past few days it looks he is still campaigning for the job.  The town hall meetings are nice but his answers are all too similar to what he was saying when he was running for President.  Even his answers at Monday’s news conference resembled his stump speeches.  I’d like a little more Presidential behavior and leadership and less ra ra cheerleading.

Pray for Us

U.S. Attorney General Eric Holder testified before the senate judiciary committee and basically shrugged when asked if any other enemy combatant captured overseas had ever been brought to civilian criminal court to face justice. Talk about an incompetent boob, not to mention a disgrace.

Great food matched with lovely wines

Here is a list of wines all from Spain, and menus from restaurants in Brooklyn where a crew of us  did a food / wine crawl through Carrol Gardens and Williamsburg recently
