Where Is Joe Isuzu When You Need Him?

info@raauto.com

2004 Isuzu Rodeo is in the shop this week. Runs terrible, loss of power is the complaint. The entire left bank of the V-6 engine drops dead at random. No power output from the three cylinders. Traced it out to a problem in the fuel injectors after MANY hours of diagnosis and research. Pulled the upper intake plenum off to get to the injector rail and upon disassembling the rail found a very tiny piece of rubber floating around in the rail which at random sits against the fuel inlet port feeding that side of the rail. So fuel pressure builds, pushes the rubber piece against the hole and effectively cuts off fuel on that side of the engine. Now the question is where did the small rubber piece come from? My next step is to take apart the pressure regulator, its located on the feed side of the rail and I'm betting it's failing and falling apart.

Here is the hard part (like it hasn't been up to now?) Parts don't seem to exist for an Isuzu. The nearest dealer that can even look up parts  (they are 25 miles away) (the one that is close to us no longer has catalogs or software anymore) tells us parts are 7-10 days away, we need to pay for them up front and they don't deliver. And the parts we order may never even show! How's that for a car company? How come Joe Isuzu never told us this when he did all those car commercials on TV?

So what's the rule when it comes time to purchase a car? Someday it will break, no matter what it is. Hope they still make parts for it. I'll keep you posted on what happens.

See ya

Ron

Marathon Miracle

In a previous blog, “A Runners Wife” I spoke about my husband training for the NYC marathon. All I have to say is that the months of training all came together of an amazing race. Race day is a grueling day for runners, and the family. But a miracle happened...

Pray for Us

U.S. Attorney General Eric Holder testified before the senate judiciary committee and basically shrugged when asked if any other enemy combatant captured overseas had ever been brought to civilian criminal court to face justice. Talk about an incompetent boob, not to mention a disgrace.

Great food matched with lovely wines

Here is a list of wines all from Spain, and menus from restaurants in Brooklyn where a crew of us  did a food / wine crawl through Carrol Gardens and Williamsburg recently
