LISTEN TO THE REVIEW

A wonderful cast including Jeremy Irons, Joan Allen and an underused Marsha Mason can’t quite pull off the story behind “Impressionism.” This Broadway play, after a lot of false starts just opened at the Gerald Schoenfeld Theater on West 45^th Street.  The play goes back and forth between impressionistic paintings and the characters whose lives are affected by the same forces- light, location, moment in time. Although I was happy to be in the company of such good performers the play does not have “enough legs” to hold the attention of a general audience.
