The Fig File: How Did We Get So Cold?
What the blazing hell is wrong with everyone?
I will make this short. There are trillions of dollars being spent by our elected Government, Ponzi schemes and fraud running rampant from coast to coast and here at home, in the most progressive city full of non-shit takers, an agency that is funded by our tax dollars and Metrocard swipes is threatening our State Capitol (although they mean us) with ‘Draconian’ - a word I loathe by the way- cuts, fare hikes and punishment for the rider if the State does not offer financial assistance to ‘balance’ their budget. I believe that this agency, which every so often and again cries they have no money, poses rape on the wallet of the Tri-State and is convinced that we are a populace of complete and utter morons whose function is to dish out more and more cash to their public transit system. Why morons? They ask for more cash while the agency doles out numbers that continuously say readership on the subway lines is continuing to increase. And this is not hidden, this is expressed in press releases that are pick up by the print and radio media which then in turn report it to us.
When we read, hear, see it, we react with ‘aww shucks, same ole, the MTA needs to have new leadership’ blah blah blah blah
I don’t know about you but when I read this stuff I want to punch a hole through my wall.
Instead I have a new plan. This one everyone can do, and I think because we have become to cold, numb, accepting of this form of a punch to the back of the head we need to do. And in this world, folks, punches the back of the head are the beginning of prison sex.
I know the State Senate and Legislature says they have a plan. Who cares. It will be full of pork and other pocket perks that will resonate long term anyway written in language that will never come to light and will whack our wallets later. The players involved: Sheldon Silver, a lawyer, employed at theWeitz & Luxenberg law firm and the leader of the Assembly in New York- he is a person that residents of this city and beyond should fear and want to defrock immediately. Senator Malcolm Smith, a Queens guy and assigned through warring conversations made Majority Leader of the Senate knows not what he is up against and not what lies head - but likes the fact that he can speak on behalf of the rest brood that makes up the Senate. And of course, Governor David Paterson who inherited a whole note pad of deficit, the press loves to eat up atom bomb has spit out enough tough talk on the T.V. and the John Gambling Show, but has produced no results.
Here is my plan: don’t use mass transit and use car pool if you can. Work from home. Discontinue the income the MTA has and force them to tap that they think we don’t know is surplus a.k.a. the second set of books, and if they don’t and attempt to tap the NY State Government for cash and that does go through, punch the three before mentioned out in the next election. Silver’s been there way to long, Smith won’t know the difference and Paterson well, he knew it would all end some day.
