Students in grades 7-12.
How Do I Submit My Entry?
You may submit an entry on CD and mail the entry with a completed entry form to the address below, or submit an .MP3 audio file with their digital entry form online at worshiningstar.com. Cassette tapes will not be accepted. All submissions become the property of News/Talk Radio 710, WOR.
Who Will Judge the Submissions?
WOR hosts, staff, and listeners will judge all entries and choose the Top 25 Semi-Finalists. WOR Listeners will participate in a first round of online voting in which they will narrow the Top 25 to their 6 favorites the week of May 18th. The Top 6 Finalists will be announced the week of May 25th, and WOR listeners will participate in a second round of voting (online and by phone) the week of June 1st. The Top 6 Finalists entries will be available online to be heard in full before and during the Finalist judging. The winners will be announced on The John Gambling Show (weekdays 5:30am-9am) the week of June 8th.
Do I Need Accompaniment?
You may sing a capella, or you may have an accompanist play live background music for your submission. Each entry will be judged equally. Due to digital music copyright restrictions, karaoke tracks will not be accepted.
Can I Sing A Duet or Perform With a Group?
This is a contest for individual singers, as there is only one Shining Star! Duets, groups and bands cannot enter.

What Should I Sing?
Sing any song of your choice that best shows your voice, as long as the song is appropriate to play on the radio. The song can be one that you have written. Past entrants have sung all genres of music including Broadway, Classical, Country, Rock, Pop, etc.
