READY FOR SPITZER ROUND TWO

He may have been disgraced and run out of office as Governor of New York, but mark my words Eliot Spitzer will try and make a comeback, and there is a good chance he will hold elected office again.  Right now he has begun the “sorry tour”.  He has emerged from a lengthy period of exclusion with an interview on the Today Show.  He apologized to his family and the people of New York and admitted he was plagued by a “gremlin”, in the form of a shapely 20 year old.  He has written a column for the New York Times and the next stop on his “sorry tour” could be Oprah or Barbara Walters and then some local media.  Apologize as much as he can, so that whenever the question of his dalliance comes up again, he can claim, “ I’ve addressed that”.  Once that is done he can slowly begin to offer comment on local issues, make more public appearances, and sooner or later someone will mention him as a possible candidate for office.  Let the speculation begin that he might be interested in running for Governor again or perhaps for his old job of Attorney General.  A reformed politician can offer a certain amount of attraction.  Keep in mind we have elected and re-elected plenty of politicians who have cheated on their taxes, Spitzer only cheated on his wife.

Pray for Us

U.S. Attorney General Eric Holder testified before the senate judiciary committee and basically shrugged when asked if any other enemy combatant captured overseas had ever been brought to civilian criminal court to face justice. Talk about an incompetent boob, not to mention a disgrace.

Great food matched with lovely wines

Here is a list of wines all from Spain, and menus from restaurants in Brooklyn where a crew of us  did a food / wine crawl through Carrol Gardens and Williamsburg recently
