A quick Amtrak Acela train rides and you’re in Washington D.C.- before you know it. No matter how many times one visits Washington, it is a still a thrill to be in a city where past, present, and future come together in extraordinary ways. The White House, The Supreme Court, The Congress, The Treasury are all open to the public- via tours, or if you contact your local Representative or Senator you can even receive more access. On our White House visit we saw the two Obama girls with a bunch of their friends playing and running all over the state rooms. The chef in the kitchen was preparing pizza for the children, and gave us samples of chocolate mints with the White House seal on them.
A dinner with eight of us at Michel Richard Citronelle (3000 M St. NW phone: 202-625-2150)was truly an exceptional experience. Every one of us said, “ it was one of the most outstanding meals we ever had”. Even with the price of $105 prix fixe, there was not an empty table - a big splurge, but worth it!
