TGIF

info@raauto.com

A tough physical week. Monday was the Evaporator core for the air conditioning on the 99 Volvo. To replace the core you need to remove the ENTIRE dashboard. Its a back breaker to say the least. Very tedious and time consuming.Tuesday was the rusty oil pan on the 14 year old pickup truck (see the previous blog). Wednesday was brake line day at R\\A Automotive. 3 Vehicles of different makes and models all with rusted out brake lines. Another great idea all car companies need to be hung out for. Making a part so critical to the safety of the vehicle and its occupants out of a material that can rust, rot and fail while driving. Ever lose a brake line? Not fun when the brake pedal goes to the floor without notice. At the time of production you would think it is a minimal cost to use stainless steel instead of plan steel line. But hey, what do I know?
Thursday  was all service work, and lots of it. Oil changes, tire rotations, state inspection and the process repeated over & over again all day long. And then came today; Friday. First car in the door is a 99 Volvo with an air conditioning problem; no, not the one from Monday but the same make and model. Guess what\'s broken. The Evaporator core! Isn't this where I started the week?

Now if everything repeats itself that means next week I should see one more. Then since we will be very proficent at that repair we will see no more. Here's a picture of the one from Monday with the dash out during the repair.

Marathon Miracle

In a previous blog, “A Runners Wife” I spoke about my husband training for the NYC marathon. All I have to say is that the months of training all came together of an amazing race. Race day is a grueling day for runners, and the family. But a miracle happened...

Pray for Us

U.S. Attorney General Eric Holder testified before the senate judiciary committee and basically shrugged when asked if any other enemy combatant captured overseas had ever been brought to civilian criminal court to face justice. Talk about an incompetent boob, not to mention a disgrace.

Great food matched with lovely wines

Here is a list of wines all from Spain, and menus from restaurants in Brooklyn where a crew of us  did a food / wine crawl through Carrol Gardens and Williamsburg recently
