Fourth of July Weekend Events



Here are some wonderful events going on in the area this weekend to celebrate our countries Independence Day!


Macy's Fourth of July Fireworks
The annual Macy's Fireworks will kick off at around 9:20 PM on Saturday, July 4. This year the fireworks will be released from six barges on The Hudson River to celebrate Independence Day and the 400th Anniversary of Henry Hudson's exploration of the Hudson River.

Nathan's Famous Fourth of July International Hot Dog Eating Contest
Nathan's will hold its annual hot dog eating contest in Coney Island at 11 am.

Statue of Liberty Crown
The Statue of Liberty crown is re-opening on July 4th! The crown, which has been closed since Sept. 11, 2001 will allow people in on a lottery based system. Getting to the Statue of Liberty requires you to take a ferry with Statue Cruises. For further information and links to book your tickets: Statue of Liberty Crown for the 4th!

Big Onion Walking Tour
Big Onion Walking Tours will hold a tour at 1 pm of sites related to the Revolutionary War in Lower Manhattan.

4th of July Concert in Battery Park
Conor Oberst and The Mystic Valley Band with Jenny Lewis will hold a free concert in Battery Park at 3:30 pm.
