Political Commentator T.J. McCormack: Sanford Needs to Resign

mfigliola@wor710.com

8:10: Guest: T.J. McCormack, Political Commentator

T.J. McCormack, political commentator from LA Talk Radio, joined the John Gambling Show with guest host Rita Cosby to discuss the latest scandal out of South Carolina involving Governor Mark Sanford’s extramarital affair. He said that this is the greatest thing to happen for the people of South Carolina. They now know how much of a lunatic their governor is. Better now than later he added because Sanford was a contender to run for the White House office in 2012.

McCormack continued to say that even though he is a conservative, he is an American first. He feels as Americans, we need to weed people like Sanford out of office. He needs to resign according to T.J. These offices have to be respected again and with scandals like this happening, people are thinking less and less of our elected officials. We expect a certain ethical standard from political officers that they should maintain to be shining examples for citizens.

Finally, McCormack added that Sanford has sounded odd and off when the scandal arose. A once confident well-spoken Sanford now seems to be uncertain when speaking about the affair. He is a man who has made a major mistake, which has now jeopardized his future political career. T.J. asked if Sanford could not honor his commitment to his wife; how can he honor the people of South Carolina and even the country for that matter.
