The stalemate in the state Senate is dragging into the holiday weekend. A one-hour closed door meeting today did little to end the power dispute between Senate Democrats and Republicans. Both sides say they expect to meet again over the next few days, but a deal doesn't appear to be close. Governor Paterson had said he would keep senators in Albany through the Fourth of July weekend to try and come to an agreement so they can get back to work on the critical bills that are currently languishing.
