Man hospitalized after NY attack by group of teens
VALLEY STREAM, N.Y. (AP) - A 30-year-old man is in critical but stable condition with a fractured eye socket and a concussion after being attacked by a group of 12 to 15 people on Long Island.
Nassau County police say the attackers were described as teenagers between the ages of 15 and 17.
The victim told police the group repeatedly kicked and punched him in the head, face and chest. The group dispersed when the victim's mother came out of the house claiming to have called police. Detectives did not have a motive for the attack.
The Valley Stream resident didn't get medical help until hours after the incident, which occurred early Sunday. He was admitted to a nearby hospital on Sunday afternoon.
Police say the man may have initially underestimated the severity of his injuries.

In a previous blog, “A Runners Wife” I spoke about my husband training for the NYC marathon. All I have to say is that the months of training all came together of an amazing race. Race day is a grueling day for runners, and the family. But a miracle happened...
U.S. Attorney General Eric Holder testified before the senate judiciary committee and basically shrugged when asked if any other enemy combatant captured overseas had ever been brought to civilian criminal court to face justice. Talk about an incompetent boob, not to mention a disgrace.
