Secretary Clinton to meet with the ousted Honduran President; Obama still lenient with Iran
Vince Macri Reporting
Judith Miller, Fox News contributor, joined the Steve Malzberg Show for his counterpunch segment to duke it out with Steve regarding Barack Obama's support of the recently ousted Honduran President via a military coup and the nuclear talks with Russia and Iran.
Judith explains that she does not believe Obama actually supports the Honduran President, who displayed Chavez type dictatorial qualities, but rather the democratic process in the country and is opposed to the manner in which he was removed from office. She exclaims that using military force to remove a leader of a democratic country goes entirely against what that country should stand for. Had the President of Honduras gone through with his alleged plan of doing away with term limits and pronouncing himself "President for Life," he would have had to perform a coup himself. If this were to happen, then the military would have at least had a reason to step in against the President. However, this type of constitutional crisis never came close to happening and is simply a hypothetical situation. There haven't been any coups in Latin America in 16 years. Judith would have hoped to see the democratic process at least try and play itself out before taking such drastic measures.
Miller continues by commenting on Iran and the lack of reaction by President Barack Obama. She believes that there should be some sort of punishment or at least harsher toned reaction to the elections in Iran and their continued opposition to do away with their nuclear program. By leaving the option of talks on the table and reducing the United State's nuclear program before there is any gesture by Iran of complying with reducing their own nuclear programs, it is leaving the US in a weakened negotiating state.
In a previous blog, “A Runners Wife” I spoke about my husband training for the NYC marathon. All I have to say is that the months of training all came together of an amazing race. Race day is a grueling day for runners, and the family. But a miracle happened...
U.S. Attorney General Eric Holder testified before the senate judiciary committee and basically shrugged when asked if any other enemy combatant captured overseas had ever been brought to civilian criminal court to face justice. Talk about an incompetent boob, not to mention a disgrace.
