Lt. Governor Secretly Sworn In, Republicans File Restraining Order

(Albany, NY) -- Governor Paterson's newly appointed Lieutenant Governor, Richard Ravitch, was reportedly secretly sworn in during a ceremony last night.
It had been announced the former MTA Chairman would be officially sworn in at a press conference this morning.
Meantime Republicans unaware of the ceremony later got a temporary restraining order from a Nassau County judge in order to prevent Ravitch from taking the reins as Lieutenant Governor. Governor Paterson claims the appointment is legal and necessary to break the month long stalemate in the State Senate, despite calls from the Attorney General that the move is unconstitutional.
Governor Paterson is holding a press conference at 11:30 a.m. with Richard Ravitch.
In a previous blog, “A Runners Wife” I spoke about my husband training for the NYC marathon. All I have to say is that the months of training all came together of an amazing race. Race day is a grueling day for runners, and the family. But a miracle happened...
U.S. Attorney General Eric Holder testified before the senate judiciary committee and basically shrugged when asked if any other enemy combatant captured overseas had ever been brought to civilian criminal court to face justice. Talk about an incompetent boob, not to mention a disgrace.
