"So that's where I think you just get into some very difficult moral issues. But that's also a huge driver of cost, right? I mean, the chronically ill and those toward the end of their lives are accounting for potentially 80 percent of the total health care bill out here."
Those are the words of our lovely president that appeared in a NY Times Sunday Magazine interview back on May 3, 2009. And just how does Mr. Obama propose to "deal with" this reality? "Well I think that there is going to have to be a conversation that is guided by doctors, scientists, ethicists and then there is going to have to be very difficult democratic conversation that takes place. It is very difficult to imagine the country making those decisions through normal political channels. And that's part of why you have to have some independent group that can give you guidance." Can you say, "death panel"? You don't have to, President Obama already has.
There are numerous examples of Obama bringing up the death panel issue. In late June, at his town hall day-long ABC-Fest, he stated that, "end of life care is going to be one of the most difficult decisions we will have to make." Yes America, Obama and his cronies will be making those decisions. I could include more from his mouth, but I think you get the point. People are concerned about death panels because of his philosophy on health care. The Obama Administration can try to shift the focus and the "blame" to Sarah Palin, "teabaggers", right wing talk show hosts (hey, that's me!) but in the end it's real, and it's Obama's baby.
In a previous blog, “A Runners Wife” I spoke about my husband training for the NYC marathon. All I have to say is that the months of training all came together of an amazing race. Race day is a grueling day for runners, and the family. But a miracle happened...
U.S. Attorney General Eric Holder testified before the senate judiciary committee and basically shrugged when asked if any other enemy combatant captured overseas had ever been brought to civilian criminal court to face justice. Talk about an incompetent boob, not to mention a disgrace.
