New Poll: New Yorkers Worried About Ground Zero Progress
(New York, NY) -- New Yorkers say they don't believe the promises that are being made about development at Ground Zero.
Two weeks before the eighth anniversary of the 9-11 terror attacks, a new Quinnipiac University Poll says by a 2-1, margin New Yorkers do not believe projections being made about development at the site.
Fifty-three-percent of those questioned say progress at Ground Zero is going, quote, "badly or somewhat badly." That's the highest negative outlook for the site since Quinnipiac first asked New Yorkers about Ground Zero in polls in 2002.
Sixty-one-percent of voters say they do not believe that the 9-11 Memorial will be completed by the tenth anniversary of the attack as has been promised.
Pollster Mickey Carroll says 63-percent say the Freedom Tower will not be completed on schedule either.
