"Sacrifice" Michelle?

There she was in all her glory. Well toned arms evident, First Lady Michelle Obama stood center stage in Copenhagen and told the world that her presence in Denmark, part of an effort to secure the 2016 Olympic Games for the city of Chicago, was a "sacrifice" on her part. And, oh yes, it was also a sacrifice for her "dear friend" and "chit-chat buddy" Oprah Winfrey to be there as well. Poor poor Michelle. She sacrificed a trip to Denmark on her own jet, with Oprah, to appear before the world. Life is tough.

This would be simply pathetic on her part, if it were not so very obscene.

While Michelle Obama talks about sacrificing for the children of Chicago, the children of Chicago continue to die. In the last year some 45 children, all school age, have been killed. Many of them just a short drive from the Obama home in the windy city. 45 dead kids, 45 grieving mothers and fathers who were forced to sacrifice their most precious possession, their children. But Michelle can't be bothered with such an inconvenience. You see she claims that bringing the Olympics to Chicago will help cure childhood obesity!

And while Michelle was getting ready to welcome the Commander-In-Sacrifice to Copenhagen, our men and women in Afghanistan continue to make the ultimate sacrifice in record numbers. While he has time to sacrifice for David Letterman, Leno, all of the Sunday morning news shows (except Fox News Sunday) 60 Minutes, the All Star Game, etc..., he has had only one chat with the General that he himself appointed to run the show in Afghanistan, in more than 70 days.

Yes, Michelle and Barrack Obama have it rough. Feel very very sorry for them. Their collective level of sacrifice is unparalleled

Marathon Miracle
In a previous blog, “A Runners Wife” I spoke about my husband training for the NYC marathon. All I have to say is that the months of training all came together of an amazing race. Race day is a grueling day for runners, and the family. But a miracle happened...
Pray for Us
U.S. Attorney General Eric Holder testified before the senate judiciary committee and basically shrugged when asked if any other enemy combatant captured overseas had ever been brought to civilian criminal court to face justice. Talk about an incompetent boob, not to mention a disgrace.
Great food matched with lovely wines
Here is a list of wines all from Spain, and menus from restaurants in Brooklyn where a crew of us  did a food / wine crawl through Carrol Gardens and Williamsburg recently
