I had a very interesting interview with Charles Hurt the Washington D.C. Bureau Chief for the New York Post. He was the one who did the unthinkable. On Tuesday he revealed something in his column that the mainstream media managed to overlook.
Remember Obama's press event in the White House Rose Garden on Monday? You know, the one that proved beyond any doubt that the doctors of America are 100% behind Obama's health care reform. One hundred and fifty doctors from every state in the union showed up to hear Obama say the same old same old with regard to health care. In a word, "nothing." When it was over many of these doctors made the rounds talking to the press about how great health care reform would be. They were like little Obama parrots.
But the real news was made prior to the actual start of the event, only Charles Hurt would write about it, and boy did that ever tick off the White House. According to Hurt, many of the doctors showed up in dress suits, without their white coats. So, the White House opened their magic treasure chest and pulled out...what else...white doctors coats. Yes all 150 medicine men and woman were wearing whites. What a Soviet Union style stunt!
Conveniently, the major news organizations that covered this, did note the uniformity in dress, but not one disclosed Obama's dirty little white coat secret. Only Charles Hurt did. So only Charles Hurt received a "chewing out session" from a White House official. That is Hurt's description, not mine. He won't say who called him to rail against his audacity, but it was a White House official.
