As we head to the polls to vote this election day, I am reminded of the suggestion I made recently, that you vote against any incumbent. I have said, regardless of whether or not they are doing a good job, make a change. My thinking was; Things will not change unless we make changes, so I endorsed the campaign slogan " no incumbents, no mercy"
However, I may have to re-think this idea. As I was listening to the campaign ads from the various candidates, I picked up on a theme. The person now in office, the incumbent, is being blamed for high spending and high taxes regardless of party. In races where democrats hold office republicans accuse them of being big spenders, which you would expect. But, in races where republicans are incumbents, democrats also accuse them of big spending and not holding down taxes.
So one would have to conclude then, that high taxes and spending have nothing to do with incumbency or party affiliation, but rather thats what comes after you elect any candidate, regardless of their political affiliation. Spending and taxing is what people do after we elect them.

In a previous blog, “A Runners Wife” I spoke about my husband training for the NYC marathon. All I have to say is that the months of training all came together of an amazing race. Race day is a grueling day for runners, and the family. But a miracle happened...
U.S. Attorney General Eric Holder testified before the senate judiciary committee and basically shrugged when asked if any other enemy combatant captured overseas had ever been brought to civilian criminal court to face justice. Talk about an incompetent boob, not to mention a disgrace.
