Now you might be a little surprised, but along with attending nightly theatre and movie screenings, I also, on occasion, attend restaurant and even club openings. What's new to New York doesn't get by me!
The other night (appropriately for Halloween) I went to the opening of Purgatorio which is the latest in theatre as night club or night club as theatre, whichever. I remember Bar Bat in New York which had a similar theme. This one is obviously set up around Halloween and you go to three floors. You start by going to a funeral. Then you are put in a casket and twirled around, (personally, this wasn't my favorite part. After the twirl you land up in Hell. Then you go to Purgatory and you go to Heaven. It's an interesting idea and if you are a bar kid, (I am not), and if you have enough liquor in you and the bands are loud enough it's kind of fun. Again, if you go to the bar scene, I'm sure doing something a little different is kind of fun. The problem about this is it's a good idea that wasn't very well done, so it gets one star but then I was stone cold sober, so maybe if you've had one to drink you'd give it more stars.

Along with Dr. David Dershaw, Director of Break Imaging at Memorial Sloan Kettering, Joan examines the ramifications of this unsettling advice and questions, “Why the change?”

In a previous blog, “A Runners Wife” I spoke about my husband training for the NYC marathon. All I have to say is that the months of training all came together of an amazing race. Race day is a grueling day for runners, and the family. But a miracle happened...
U.S. Attorney General Eric Holder testified before the senate judiciary committee and basically shrugged when asked if any other enemy combatant captured overseas had ever been brought to civilian criminal court to face justice. Talk about an incompetent boob, not to mention a disgrace.
