Andy had such a great monologue today! He flipped the script on the IRS and gave them an audit (with his rubber glove). The talked about how the IRS processes applications and why it’s impossible for the lower level people to be the ones targeting political groups. He played audio from the Congressional testimony today from Lois Lerner of the IRS where she was emphatic about doing nothing wrong and refused to answer questions during a cross examination. Andy also did stories off the Content Grill including the formal announcement of Anthony Weiner’s intention to run for Mayor of New York City. He also revealed that Michelle Obama used to date the lead investigator for the IRS. Yikes. Ginny Rapini from the NorCal Tea Party called in with her story of how the IRS intimidated her which lead to her organizing a lawsuit against the IRS filed earlier this week.
Justin ‘Lean Left’ Leto joined Andy for his regular segment but what was irregular was how well they got along. They spoke about Jodi Arias addressing the court for the sentencing phase of her saga and the breaking news that Tamerlan Tsarnaev did in fact murder three of his friends in Boston along with the man that was shot in Orlando last night. The second half of the hour was definitely my favorite part of today’s show – former Mayor of Las Vegas, Oscar Goodman, called in to talk about his book Being Oscar and tell stories to Andy about his life including how he went from being a lawyer for the mob and his transition into politics. He was charming and hysterical; I know he’ll be back.
I jumpstarted hour three with Bizarre News. We talked about the amazing discovery in an abandoned house, the best and worst airlines in America, Where Are They Now: Montell Jordan, and a liquor scam called ‘Operation Swill’ that took down 30 restuarants in New Jersey. Also, Intern Caroline jumped in studio for her exit interview. As always, Andy tried to get her to say that I’m terrible – check it out in the podcast!
