TGIF, right?!
It has been such a busy week; I am so ready for a long weekend. If you get lonely you can listen back to any parts of the show you may have missed in the podcast section of this website. Andy and I will be taking the day off on Monday but there will still be a live show. Simon Conway and his lovely British accent will be filling in. Don’t worry; Andy will be back on Tuesday.
Andy started the show with some hot stories off the content grill (I love it when he does that). A couple of the stand outs were that the Obama family will be taking two separate tax payer funded vacations and that one of the busses Carnival Cruise Lines hired to take their distressed passengers to a hotel broke down on the side of the road. Haven’t these people been through enough?? He then went into the lie that President Obama told at his Google Hangout (what?) about his administration being the most transparent ever. Gautam Naik called in from London to recap the story about a meteorite hitting ground in Russia and then our most anticipated interview of week, Dr. Ben Carson told us his life story and spoke a lot about what he told President Obama at last weekend’s Prayer Breakfast. If you missed that speech, you can check it out here – definitely worth the watch!
A show favorite, Matt DeBord, gave his weekly business report. He and Andy discussed Warren Buffett’s major purchase and how it will benefit John Kerry and how much tax payer money the former mayor of San Diego gambled away. The always wonderful Bryan Suits ripped Obama apart for never making an effort to call Libyan officials and ask for help during the attack on our consulate. He also made a Star Wars joke that Andy didn’t get but I thought was pretty funny. Nerd.
I miss Michelle. Now, that’s not to say that I don’t adore Intern Tricia – I do. But, it’s not the same. Tricia did a wonderful job on the entertainment report, I was very proud. Andy had Tricia rundown the movies that are coming out this weekend – any of them look good to you? I don’t think I’ll be checking any of them out. I’m waiting for Oz in a couple weeks! She also had some really sweet Charlie Sheen news and a story about Ke$ha that may make Andy lose his crush. Ew. I popped in for some quick Bizarre News and took the opportunity to blast The Washington Post for their story about Sarah Palin signing on with Al Jazeera and gave the rundown on how much it costs to get a little Valentine’s Day action. I hope everyone has a lovely weekend and gets to relax on Monday!
See ya Tuesday,
Producer Miranda
