A Brooklyn NYPD police captain received a tongue lashing for his Twitter warnings about two parolees — but they were spot on, law enforcement sources confirmed Wednesday.
Captain Jeffrey Schiff of the 76th Precinct in Carroll Gardens used the station house’s Twitter feed, @76PrecinctNYPD, to alert residents about the release of two career criminals from prison — and was immediately given a dressing-down by NYPD brass, since neither man had been accused of committing a crime.
“Release Alert: Efrain Gauthier (M/H/24) major history of DRUGS & BREAK-INS. Released & recently seen in our community,” Schiff tweeted, along with a picture of the parolee.
