The town will have armed security guards stationed at all 10 public schools starting in the fall after the Board of Education narrowly voted to approve the measure at a meeting Tuesday.
The measure passed 5-4 with board members Joyce Hall, Jennifer Rancourt, Peter Jonaitis, and Tina LeBlanc casting dissenting votes.
School board Chairman Timothy Neville, Vice Chairman Vincent Grady, and board members Kevin Fealy, Donna Szewczak, and Tom Sirard voted in favor. Roughly 25 residents were in attendance at the meeting held at Town Hall.
