London's Top Ten Sights

Thank you for this opportunity to present my travel questions. I enjoy your very informative radio show on WOR 710 New York.
My wife and I are traveling to London on September 18 for a 9 day stay. This will be our first time in London/Europe. We are planning to do antique shopping at Portobello Road etc. Could you recommend the 10 best, must see sights in London. We will be staying at the Thistle Kensington Gardens (American Airline travel package). I have also purchased your travel guide.

I appreciate your recommendations.

Thank you,
George Troiano
Monroe Township, NJ

That really depends on your interests. In Pauline Frommer's London, we list the iconic sights as being:

Westminster Abbey

St Paul's Cathedral

The Tower of London

Houses of Parliament

The Tate Modern

The Tate Britain

The National Gallery

The London Eye

The British Museum

The Victoria and Albert

But truthfully, you could have just as meaningful an experience visiting the British Library, the Churchill Museum and Cabinet War Rooms (an extraordinary museum), or the Foundling Museum. Read your guidebook and see which experiences most appeal to you!

Have a wonderful time. London is one of the most fascinating destinations on the planet and you won't run out of things to see and do.

Pauline Frommer
