Police on Long Island are searching for a suspect who tried to kidnap a 12-year-old boy in Freeport.
The boy was walking alone on North Brookside Avenue around 5 p.m. on Tuesday night when a man walked up behind him. Police said the man grabbed the boy and put his hand over his mouth.
A driver in a passing car saw what was happening and began honking his horn. The boy escaped and the suspect fled.
The was not injured.
