deGrom's Struggles Continue as Mets 9th Inning Rally Falls Short; Texas Wins 10-8

Jacob deGrom blew three separate leads as the Texas Rangers took the opening game of a quick two game series vs the Mets 10-8 tonight.

deGrom surrendered 8 runs on 10 hits in just four innings. The Rangers scored in every inning against deGrom with a run in the first, two in the second and third, and three in the fourth which put Texas up 8-4 and they never looked back.

Asdrubal Cabrera, Neil Walker, Curtis Granderson, and Travis d'Arnuad all hit home runs for the Mets. In fact, the Mets scored three runs in the ninth and sent the potential go-ahead run to the plate, but Jay Bruce grounded into a game ending double play.

The Mets will send Zack Wheeler to the hill tomorrow at 8:05 pm; Pete McCarthy leads off coverage on WOR at 6:05 pm with 'Mets on Deck'
