Sharnjit Singh died after his throat was slit by his cousin Lebdeep Singh.
The two men were having a verbal argument when Lebdeep jammed a knife in Sarnjit's neck.
When the NYPD arrived Lebdeep immediately confessed to the crime, telling the police "I'm guilty, I'm the one who killed him."
Sarnjit's girlfriend, Mona Shiwmanjal told police that the two cousins got along fine and never complained about each other.
The landlord of the apartment, Sukhwinder Singh said that Sharnjit arrived in the U.S. 4 years ago and the two men had shared the same bedroom since his arrival.
Both Sarnjit and Lebdeep earned a living driving for Uber.
