Construction work at the Bayonne Bridge has been suspended because of falling debris.
Four cars were damaged on the Staten Island side of the bridge because of concrete that apparently fell from the bridge. Drivers say debris has been falling since work began.
The Port Authority said it’s investigating the situation. It’s halted construction work while it looks into the matter.
Construction on the Bayonne Bridge is raising the roadbed so that bigger ships can pass underneath the bridge.
