Man Arrested In Restricted Area Of Subway

John Mangual was arrested after he allegedly tried to push an MTA conductor onto the subway tracks.

Mangual was in a restricted area at the Columbus Circle Station when transit worker Janice Johnson spotted him and told him to move.

When Mangual refused to leave the restricted area MTA conductor Jared Smith offered to help the trespasser find his way to a non-restricted area of the subway.

When Smith approached Mangual to escort him from the premises, the MTA conductor was allegedly grabbed by the shoulders and shoved towards the tracks.

Mr. Mangual was arraigned and is being held on $15,000 dollar bail.
