Cespedes Drives in 3 in Mets 6-5 Win

The Mets are 2-0 to start out their 10-game road trip as they defeated the Padres 6-5 tonight at Petco Park.

Yoenis Cespedes was outstanding driving in three runs on three hits. He hit a solo home run in the first, drove in a run with an RBI double in the fifth, and then ripped an RBI triple down the line on a check-swing and would score on a throwing error to give the Mets a 6-4 lead.

Addison Reed allowed a run to score in the ninth, but would get out of a jam for the second straight night. The Mets will look for three in a row as Steven Matz takes the hill on Wednesday night. Coverage on Wednesday begins at 6:05 PM with Pete McCarthy & Sal Licata in the WOR Sports Zone.
